The trek continues with a steady climb through the moorland zone. As you ascend, the landscape opens up, offering stunning views of Kilimanjaro’s summit. Today, the trek takes you across the alpine desert zone. After a gradual ascent, you will descend into the Barranco Valley, with views of the famous Barranco Wall ahead. The day’s trek will be challenging, but you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the landscape. Barranco Camp offers a tranquil atmosphere for an overnight rest.

Today’s trek will take you through rocky terrain as you climb toward Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt. The hike is demanding, but the reward is the incredible view of the summit in the distance. Barafu Camp sits on a ridge, providing a perfect view of the surrounding landscape. Rest here, and prepare for the summit ascent later that night.

Hiking Time: 12 - 15 hours
Begin your summit attempt at midnight, trekking through the night to reach the summit. The path to Uhuru Peak is challenging, but the thrill of reaching the highest point in Africa is worth every step. After taking in the magnificent sunrise at the peak, you will begin the descent, passing Barafu Camp on the way down. Continue on to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest after the long day.

Your final day on the mountain involves descending through the beautiful forest to Mweka Gate. Once you reach the gate, you will receive your summit certificate to commemorate your achievement.
